Incubating tomorrow's investors and entrepreneurs through education, events, and community.
Explore the societyCUVCPE is the official Venture Capital and Private Equity society of the University of Cambridge. We exist to connect students with the disciplines of venture capital and private equity—through learning, dialogue, and direct engagement with the industry.
An academic society, not a fund. We focus on education, speaker series, and building a community of curious minds interested in investment and entrepreneurship.
To demystify VC and PE for students, to create a bridge between the University and the investment industry, and to support the next generation of investors and founders.
Based in Cambridge, with events and activity tied to the academic calendar. We work alongside the University, colleges, and partner societies such as CUTEC and St John's Entrepreneurs.
We run education programmes, speaker events, and career-focused activities across four knowledge areas.
Understanding early-stage investing, deal flow, due diligence, and the venture ecosystem.
Buyouts, growth equity, value creation, and the role of PE in the broader capital markets.
Context on public and private markets, fundraising cycles, and how capital flows between stages.
Building and scaling ventures; how founders and investors work together.
A typical year with CUVCPE: term-time events, speaker series, and learning cycles aligned to the Cambridge calendar.
Kick-off events, introduction to VC & PE, first speaker series of the year.
Deep-dives by pillar, workshops, and career-focused sessions.
Networking events, partnerships with entrepreneurship societies, end-of-year activities.
Our members are Cambridge students from diverse disciplines who share an interest in investment and entrepreneurship.
Undergraduates and postgraduates across sciences, humanities, and social sciences—united by curiosity about how capital is deployed and how companies are built and scaled.
Access to education, events, and a network of peers and industry contacts. A learning environment that is serious but collaborative, with no expectation of prior experience in VC or PE.
We work with funds, corporates, and innovation organisations to bring practitioners into the room and to support our educational mission.
We collaborate with CUTEC, St John's Entrepreneurs Club, and other Cambridge societies to create joint events for students and founders.
Membership is open to students at the University of Cambridge. Whether you are new to venture capital and private equity or already exploring a career in the industry, we welcome you to the community.
